Nima develops, constructs, and operates ultra-fast EV charging sites along roads and in and around major cities. All Nima’s charging points have a capacity of up to 300 or 400 kW, which makes it possible to charge up to 300 km in 15 minutes,
In 2022, Nima Energy (Nima) and Niam Infrastructure (Niam) began a collaboration regarding the financing of ultra-fast EV charging infrastructure, which also meant that Niam’s infrastructure fund became a minority shareholder in Nima. Now, the owners of electric vehicles can see the results of this collaboration when they charge ultra-fast at Nima’s newly opened sites. To further accelerate the pace of the rollout, Niam has expanded the collaboration and its ownership stake in Nima.
In 2022, Nima and Niam began a collaboration regarding the rollout of ultra-fast charging infrastructure for electric vehicles. The decision meant that Niam’s infrastructure fund became a minority shareholder in Nima with the possibility to finance the expansion of Nima’s charging sites. To increase the pace of the roll-out, Niam made the decision last year to inject additional capital and increased its ownership stake in Nima from 15 to just over 23 percent.
Now, EV owners can see the results of the collaboration: In December, Nima opened three new charging sites with a total of 24 charging points – in Skillingaryd along the E4, in Håby along the the E6, and in Vä along the E22. In addition, Nima is building 50 charging points in central Stockholm, of which 12 are planned to be completed shortly and the others by the summer. In total, Nima is currently building 150 ultra-fast charging points from Stockholm to Skåne.
“It feels great to see the result of the collaboration with our partner and co-owner Niam Infrastructure in the form of a number of opened sites. Thanks to our joint efforts, we continue our expansion and thus take a number of steps towards our objective to become one of the leading EV Charge Point Operators for ultra-fast charging in the Nordic region,” says Marcus Landelin, CEO of Nima Energy.

All Nima’s charging points have a capacity of up to 300 or 400 kW, which makes it possible to charge up to 300 km in 15 minutes, provided that the car can handle it. Nima’s plan is to build a total of 1250 charging points in the Nordic region by the end of 2026.
“The investment in ultra-fast EV charging in strategically important locations in Sweden is critical to accelerating the electrification of the vehicle fleet. Through our investment in Nima Energy, we have the possibility to accelerate this transition through the rapid roll-out of ultra-fast and easily accessible EV charging that meets the needs of drivers. Our collaboration with Nima is entirely in line with our focus on sustainable infrastructure projects in the Nordic region,” says Sverker Åkerblom, CEO of Niam Infrastructure.
